Black Canyon City Water Improvement District Board Members.
Below are the newly elected volunteer nembers of the Governing Board that Owner/Users chose to represent them in the BCCWID Special District Election of Nov. 5, 2024. There are currently two vancant board seats due to resignations of the previous Board Chair and Vice-Chair in November of 2024. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer on the Board please contact the BCCWID Office at 623-374-9408.
Here are some of the Basics of What Board Members Do:
- Represent Owner/Users interests in the BCCWID.
- Assure provision of quality water for the Owners/Users in accordance with governmental requirements.
- Act as Fiduciaries for the BCCWID owner/users.
- Implement policies and procedures to safeguard the BCCWID system.
- Budget for the daily operation and maintenance of the Owner/Users' water delivery system.
- Plan and budget a portion of revenues for long-term capital improvements.
- Schedule and attend monthly public meetings to discuss and report all aspects of the business, including financial, operations, safety issues, and the results of testing/sampling.
- Make themselves available to answer questions, address Owner/User concerns, and accept their input.
*** The newly elected Board is currently working to create, adopt and implement Bylaws which should have been in place when the District was established over 40 years ago. The Bylaws will clearly define the responsibilities and duties of the volunteer Board members so that there is no ambiguity, thus greatly improving transparency and accountability to the Owner/Users of the District.
